naked judges

naked judges

Somewhere between dusk
and dawn,
an improbable march
ends prematurely,
as another transforms through
a raging storm of pain then joy
from It to I
with a strident cry
and a petulant plunge
into the sea of smiling waves
wider than the great divide
between choice and life...

A cleansing sea
with naked judges
who filter truth from lie
that souls of clear conscience might thrive,
while those weighted by guilt might wither and die,
like It did,
somewhere between dusk
and dawn.
