You wrap me up with words-
lies dripping like acid from your tongue.
Your smell is sweet, like oleanders-
Poison to my lungs.
Your love cuts off my circulation,
turning my whole body numb.
My heart is dying from starvation.
You look away, I turn and run.
You call out to me and no one answers;
you search but you can't see.
I'm standing right in front of you-
but you can't even tell it's me.
You sink slowly in your self pity,
drowning in your inability to love.
While I dance freely in your mind-
still everything you're dreaming of.
