The Cliche Of Beauty

The Cliche Of Beauty

Love, yes,
so they say it is,
it is beautiful.
So is the sunrise,
the sunset,
the dappled light filtering through the dust motes,
landing on your hair,
caressing your head.
Beauty, no one can deny it,
I the least of all,
but it has become meaningless
to call something
beautiful.
It has,
Break my heart, poor bankrupt break at once,
become cliche.

What more horrid act, what worse verdict
could ever
have been
murdered.

Roses aren''t always red,
Violets are never blue,
And even though you don''t know it,
I''m in love with you.
