What's Left of Me?

What's Left of Me?

I mourned for your lips,
I mourned for that sensation,
Of that special kiss.
I mourned for your eyes,
Piercing blue like the sky above us.

What’s left of me is the memories of you.
You took apart of me that I can’t retrieve.
My heart feels broken.
My heart feels empty.
My happiness is gone,
It’s what you took away.
It’s what’s left of me.

What’s left of me is sorrow,
Pain, and heartbreak.
You left me dazed and confused.
You put me through so much misery.
I told you I loved you,
But you never seemed to care.
You always ignored me,
Occupying yourself,
So you didn’t have to talk to me.

I asked you, “What’s wrong?”
While gently resting my hand on your
You shrugged away replying,

As I replayed that scene in my head,
I realized something was wrong.
But now, what’s left of me,
Are the memories of you,
And no matter what,
You’ll always be in my heart,
Always and forever.

Author's note:
I wrote this poem in the perspective of my best friend.
