The golden seconds

The golden seconds

I am an old star that dims.
The years are tarnishing my turquoise glow
As they whiz by so fast,
Leaving me alone to weep in my murky sky.

I am an old star without melodies,
My voice, softening; my words, unclear;
Each lullaby, I sing to my children,
A song they know time will, soon, come to take me.
