Lust, sometimes overrides trust

Lust, sometimes overrides trust

I am here, where are you?
I seem so lost in your memory
I need to feel what we had was truth
Not just for the night, but for nights to come

I am here, you are there
I feel your presence in the air
You touched my hand and like a flame,
Something ignited in my vein

And now you're acting oh, so vane
I bet you think this poem's about you
I bet you're right
Oh, but honey, don't lose sight
You may be all that's in my head
But what we had is surely dead
