Bending Hearts

Bending Hearts

Hearts don’t break, they bend
Rent in two they stretch
Pull and pull
Like distorted flesh.

Lines appear,
A spiderweb of pain grows
As a fresh hurt bends
Contortions of truth lie
Heavy as stones
And they pull and pull.

Hearts don’t break, they bend.
How I wish it would break
One big explosion
And then nothing
No feeling, no hurt, no shame.
But instead the lines grow
And the pain increases.
