Really nothing is ever decided
Except the finality of the last breath,
Consider the value we place in the feeling of happiness,
It isn’t unattainable, but it isn’t effortless
People wait for it like mail on a birthday, while
Right inside the house is the cake, streamers,
Old friends and young children,
Commitments just needing recognition
And the songs start
The years turn golden, and
Every shadow is forgotten for choosing the sun.
