You made me a mom

You made me a mom

For the first time I don’t know where to begin
So many years have passed; so much time has gone by
We have come a long way from that cute couple that met on State Street at Old Navy
Sometimes even now I sit and wonder
How I would have reacted if I would have known then what I know now
That you would make me a Mom
Chris I can’t believe we had a baby!
I used to say that over and over when our angel first presented herself to us
No matter what you think or what has been said between us up until this point
Right now at this moment, know my hearts sentiments and believe this
I hold no ill will towards you
Know That I wish you so much love and happiness
I wish for you all the joy your heart can hold
God had a plan greater than the Minot one we had mapped out
It’s with his great knowledge and everlasting wisdom that the force that is Ava came forth
You piss me off, you make me want to smother you in your sleep sometimes man
But at the end of the day, one thing I know for sure
She wouldn’t be who she is without you
Your child, from beginning to end
Your eyes your toes my nose
How could I ever think of hating you
When I look into her eyes all I see is you love
I think about the good times we had in the beginning
After a year had gone by they were few and far between
Sometimes it’s just not meant to be and I can accept that
We beat that dead horse for so long and sometimes I just wonder
If we were just afraid to be without each other
Maybe that’s the reason we just kept hanging on
I guess that’s just one of those things that will reveal itself if time
And even if the answer never presents itself I’m so happy that I met you at all
My eyes overflow with tears as I feel the memories play
Like a projector of times past in my brain
My daughter’s father, Chris you will always hold a place in my heart
We really did the best we could but it still fell apart
There’s nothing I won’t do for you, we are connected till the end
If nothing else along with parents we can be eternal friends
I hope God sees fit to bless your life with lasting love next time
Eternal and pure, far greater than yours and mine
A woman of Christ, sweet genuine and appreciates you for the man you are
I pray one day you move on and marry this angel and have an eternal soul mate
Just invite me and Ava to the wedding, you know she loves cake
I will smile through tears as she throws flower petals down the isle
I’ll say a prayer for your marriage I know the wedding will have such style
Because from the bottom of my heart, all I wish for you is happiness in peace I’m so sorry that it didn’t work out between you and me……..
