You spoke and I didn't hear
The words
fell from your lips
like ink from a pen
spreading the stain
bigger and bigger.

I sit here, in our world
the one we created
together and watch
as the stain grows
Blackness fills the room.

The void opens
The hole is there
I can't stop it

To the edge our world I cling
While you plunge down
into the inky blackness.
I can't let go
The edge is safe
It's known.
But the black waits.

I need to let go.
I need to let the ink
Swallow me whole.
I need to make the choice.
But I don't.
I cling here.
Where I was once safe.
Where I was once loved.
And I cry tears of the past
