The Poet She Is

Only in torment did she write so well
Free flowing words of her own living hell
There were days when she thought she would not survive
And nights when she waited for dawn to arrive
With the comfort of dark and a faint beam of light
She'd let her tears flow as she'd write in the night
Exhausted from fear and resigned to the fact
By writing her fears she made a pact
She looked at the her words with a pain in her heart
Wondering when her life would start
So long ago she had lived in a dream
With a seat at the cafe and coffee and cream
Time after time she smiled at the thought
Of the wonderful life and the things that she'd bought
Never in her wildest days
Did she think she'd live in a pale blue haze
She never thought her world could turn
Never conceived that her love would burn
But it did and she watched as her world fell apart
As she wrote all the words that poured from her heart
Healing words that came from her Soul
Mending her faith, resetting her goal
For everything that she'd been through
She tried to change her point of view
She began to see reason for the path she was taking
A new goal set and a dream in the making
