Shipwrecked In LA

Shipwrecked In LA

Silence for an abandoned soul
Desperate journey of a castaway
Insult to injury by popular poll
Habitual bungler and runaway.

Into forbidden waters sailed
Red morning sky, a basic lesson
The charted route was tried and failed
Wide the pass of sin in session.

Shipwrecked! And now pillory bound
Another one has crashed and burned
Suffered the shame without a sound
Bitter taste of wreckage learned.

Empty and cold the void below
Hunger that never, ever sleeps
Vigilant watch for friend or foe
Forsaken company seldom keeps.

Cries for mercy and pardon pleas
What hope secured, a worthless gain
Since fate conspired against release
Of course it was a pointless pain.
