The Day The Poetry Died.

The Day The Poetry Died.

The poetry inside me has died,
I was struck down and crucified.
Broken hearted, now insecure,
" I love you," you said to her.

I know she was yours before we met,
And what she shared you can never forget.
I know feelings don't just go away,
I know longer know you're here to stay.

I know she was your once in a lifetime,
A moment in time that could never be mine.
Then there's that far away look in your eyes,
What good to me now, is the rest of our lives?
