Darkness Speaks for Itself

Darkness Speaks for Itself

I’ll wait for you in the wild, night air
A fresh and tantalizing scent is the dark
Stars are winking brightly far away
This is how I like it when the moon hides her face
Roses are blooming in a fragrant, tangled bower
I cannot see their color so I imagine they’re black
My favorite, echoic, shadowy shade
I watch you arrive in your cloak of darkness
Wrapped around you and blotting out all traces of the light
That shines here and there in luminous traceries
Against the night silk, dark lit sky

Now I’m walking forward; disobeying your orders
Impatience won’t let me stay still as I wait
You catch sight of my shadow and greet me in silence
Unbearable need expressed in your kiss,
Your lips are delicious with a taste I can’t resist
I melt in your embrace (body, heart and soul)
I am all the way yours; you are hopelessly mine
And tonight we will find ourselves a secret, sacred place
Where we will disappear with all the colors of the day
Deep into the seamless dark fabric of the night
And let passion speak for itself
