Summers Garden

Summers Garden

Times are tough I heard her say,
As she looked upon the earth.
Planning what she'd like to eat,
when winter has it's birth.

She toiled hard to sew the seeds,
Planting each with love.
Praying for good weather,
And strength from God above.

Her green thumb was apparent,
As the plants grew tall and strong.
She wondered how she'd do it all,
When harvest came along.

A memory from long ago,
Came rushing through her mind.
How mom was always there to help,
With loving hands so kind.

As tears fell among the plants,
Her worries washed away.
For mom was there to help her,
In each and every way.

I am a newly inspired poet. I hope to motivate myself to write more and possibly publish some of my work.
