Goodbye Red, Red Rose

Goodbye Red, Red Rose

Sometimes words become misread
misinterpretations of what is said
But no word at all my dear
sends out a message loud and clear

Did I purposely forget
or blissfully accept
What everybody knows
thorns do come with a rose
Smell, but do not touch -
reaching in may prove too much.

She said - take it easy, take it slow
but in reverse - we cannot go.
Weren't we at a special place in time
there's no going back to an end of line.

So,
Did a piper come along
and fable you a better song
What you heard is not what it seems
what you heard were magic beans.

Did a big heist take my place,
where your heart is stolen without a trace?

Will the rose now close its bloom?

The beauty came
then left
much too soon.
