The Dance

The Dance

Holding her close;
two cosmic beings
swaying shyly;
music, starlight canopy;
Soft Caribbean tempo
driving his pelvis to gyrate
ever so slightly;
in his ears gears began ticking
First gear, she purred soft,
gentle, relaxed, uninhibited;
Second gear music quickened;
she moving with purpose
pressed her body to his

Long, silky, blonde mane
brushed ‘cross his face;
smells, orchids coiling ‘round
her mystery;
pheromones flooding his nostrils,
evolving into sensual advances;
her breathe warm, intoxicating;
pleasure so new, sending signals…
he dare not let his body
give away his desires
Third gear, heated, giddy, yearning;
small beads of sweat speckled
his forehead;
hands begging to wander, sliding
gentle to rest upon her
hourglass waist, perfection;
Fourth gear, his restraint
This closeness racing through
veins, swollen with intent;
bodies making indecent advances,
bare breast, blossoming,
peeking up from a pale yellow
dotted dress; her scent,
sheer hormones dipped in honey;

filling him with guilty expectation;
his hands making contact, curves
from shoulder to hip,
visage of a goddess;
his breathe trembling,
begging to taste what lay
just beyond her lips

Fifth gear, a rumbling in his chest
yearning for that rush, thrill;
emotional collision,
inner fireworks

Flesh, sun-kissed, café-latte,
tiny rivulets trickling, glistening
between her breast;
air rich in bubbles of excitement;
he, inhaling expectations,
currents of blood thumping
hard in his ears
Seconds before he could sin
cruel fate stepped in;
the dance was done

His arms hesitated to release
that voluptuous temptation
Too soon, gone,
a mirage, a dream

One evening of pleasure; fireworks
imprinted on his memory for life;
never to unwrap her mysteries,
disappointed; then
into the night she disappeared

Island beat, kettle drums,
Calypso music always
pulls him back
to that exotic journey;
for just a few second orchids bloom,
air warms and a timeless grace
puts a smile on his face
