The Heartbeat of the World

The Heartbeat of the World

As we sit here under the stars, the stars that shimmer and gleam with the souls of lovers past, I gaze upon the silhouetted figure of your face and the heart beat of the world stops, hangs in the balance between beats, for only a moment. Within this rare moment, our eyes lock, and I tumble head first into the dark, rippling pools of blue that are your eyes. In this space, nothing exists but our souls, intertwined in the complex never ending dance of love, a passion filled and eternally beautiful occurrence. For that moment, I witness the truest form of love, where two unrelated beings become one; they live as one, breathe as one, and die as one. There is no telling where one stops and the other begins, they are a sole entity living in a world of pairs…. As the heart of the world resumes, the moment fades, and I fall up out of the nothingness, back to reality. As I reflect upon what I have witnessed, I gaze upon the stars above and know that one day, our souls too shall shine down on the beings of the world, forever reminding them that true love is not a fairy tale...
