...And the Game Goes On

...And the Game Goes On

So how do I see thee now?
After all that has happened between us two?
I made the move, but it was countered.
Contact we kept, when away you did go.
But how was I supposed to take that action?

A kiss on the cheek, you said it was sweet
You flirt, putting out, but quickly pull back
Leaving me wondering and sputtering
A line tears through my soul
…like kisses on the necks of best friends.

Please, please! I’m not one to beg
But this game of cat and mouse is tearing me!
My mind will soon label you, and though I hate it,
I can’t deny it, but before that happens
I want to ask you one more time.

My words, are not like my writings
They come out sputtered, and I stutter
Instead, let my actions speak.
A kiss on the cheek, not intended to be cute
I’m asking for more than a friendship.

If I push you away, I’m sorry
But I can’t stand the game we’re playing
And if I lose, than I lose
But I don’t want to lose you.
So, I guess, I’ll have to let the game go on.
