Broken Flower

Broken Flower

Broken flower I see your head
Hung low outside of your vase
The neck that supports your illustrious bloom
Has withered into a hollow shell

Your brittle pedals once filled my nasal
With the smell of a promising spring
Now that season has come
And gone, leaving you behind

The immense heat of summer
Harvested every once of
Moisture in your core
The autumn winds treated you no better
As they tore your pedals
From your sprouting bud
Spreading them among the aired grasslands

The sun was not enough
To support your ginger soul
Separated from your roots,
You lost touch with your rich heritage

Broken flower, it is I who assumes
The blame for your tattered display
Your selfless sacrifice revived
The rosy look on my lovers face
You flushed her cheeks
With the colors of admiration
