The Beast

The fall of Troy
Owes its demise to it

Pagan Wiccans danced
Unclothed and conjoured
Around heavy black
Culdrens for it

The humble sheppard
Put blade to cattle for it

Greeks, young and old,
Drank wine and paid
Homage to Dionysus for it

This beast lashes
Out in blind rages;
So implusive

Many men have perished
And never seen or felt
It's fatal blow

This monster has stolen
The lives and the souls
Of those who remain
To mourn the lost

We see the rivers of blood
We feel the pain in its wake
Yet, we jump head first
Into the salivating jaws of
