Memory lanes

Memory lanes

Years go by like desert sand
every once or often, a missed heart beat
whispers your name. something
reminding me of you, though gone..

Simple converstaions, hesitant steps
books, painting ..art flights
somewhere a bond, relationship
pious, pure and unreal...

Something I lost when you were here
something I lost when you were gone..
Knowing to keep the promises..
pain of all those made promises

It hurts in those memory lanes
the ghosts are there like pictures
something to hold on to,something amiss
fathom connection and so frail life..

forbidden rules of yesterday, tomorrow
isolate bonds of tears and sorrow..
every missed heartbeat I celebrate
what is left in those memory lanes...
