The Other Side of Love

The Other Side of Love

It started out just right, you see,
a marriage done-up properly
with roses, groom and family.

Our vows of love, then honeymoon
of course done in the month of June
we danced to many merry tunes.

Twenty-five years flew by so fast
now you love me, now it''s passed,
my face a falsely grinning mask.

A shadow, creeping, shrouds my heart;
Tomorrow I will play a part,
trying for a brand new start.

It''s all in vain, it cannot be
my heart will love no one but he,
Alone is how I''ll die, you see?

poetry is to the heart what food is to the body and God is to the soul
