Crime of Passion

Crime of Passion

The warmth of his words
& the fire in his eyes
embalms me in a smoldering magma
diced with comfort, opportunity, & passion.
The righteousness of his strut.
The simplicity of his being
makes me so gullible & curious.
Such a beautiful creature he is
& I’m so jealous
so envious of his audacity
to be so serene
in a world so vicious & mean.
I’m so curious
to look inside him,
See right through him.
But I never seem to pass
the watery gates
of his iris.
I drown in them
every time.

Such a beautiful creature he is.
Such a crime of passion we’re involved in.
Murder in the 3rd degree
he’s finding every way
to unintentionally kill me.
