Steps marched out
To the beat of a broken heart
Walking the line
Straight as cupid’s arrow

To thyself be true
To thyself be faithful
To thyself tell the lies
That you tell everyone else

Hold the stem of a lover’s rose
Feel the pierce of the thorns
Feel the rage
Each day, how it grows!

The strangle of the ivy
Envy of the world
Whispers in your ear
From a burdened little bird

Time never slows nor speeds
The tick of the clock
In a annoying rhythm with
Your beating heart

Possessively aggressive
Hardly what was expected
Filling caskets
With memories and cadavers

Take an oath to be able to breath
Your better off selling your soul
Then to take the relentless torture
Of having the least power
