Love is it just a word? We hear it said a lot in daily context, but does it really hold weight in the justification of its use? We say that we love anything that brings us joy and excitement, but is what brings us that morally and spiritually fulfilling? Is love just physical, personal, and materially driven in most of us? I think most of us believe we know what love is, and that may be true, but there is so much more to love than we as a whole can even imagine. Just look at Christ, he allowed himself to be paraded through the public, to be ridiculed, abused, and humiliated for his love of his father, brothers and sisters in faith. He loved his disciples and all of humanity that he died to preserve their life of sin and tyranny. Profound, how can anyone of us live up to those expectations? It really is so simple that most of us including myself have taken it for granted in pursuing our own personal happiness over that of anyone else. Blood is thicker than water that's just a phrase, for anyone that believes in you enough to help you become a better person has just shown you the same love that claimed Jesus' life. So my words of wisdom and experience through my own trials is to reach out to those who are suffering and confused in your life and put their needs before your own. If you happen to have a significant other, grab a hold of them and show them how important and special they are to you and the world that you both exist in. Remember a valentine is anyone that provokes a feeling of humbleness and well being when in their presence, no matter what they have or what they don't, and I do believe this is what love is. Love is caring enough about yourself to see that others wants and needs are more important than your own. To receive love you first must believe love!
