Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love

His every touch made the girl breathe.
His every look gave her joy.
His lips touched hers, giving the girl everlasting joy.
As the girl hoped to be with him for eternity.

They snuck out at night to meet the other to fulfill
And gain each other’s every need, But every time their meeting ended
They were always thirsting for more
And awaited the new night to come so they could be together again.

They saw one another only at night
Because our parents forbade them to see each other at mornings light.
Their families fought against each other and
The girl and her love were caught in the middle of it all.

One night she waited for her love
But he never came to her like they had always planned.
She waited night after night wanting him to come but he never did.
Finally, on the fortnight since last he came to her.

When she saw him she was filled with such horror
He was bloody and torn, as pale as death.
He looked so weak and fragile to the girl’s eyes
And he was barely alive even then.

She wept over his barely breathing body
As she tried to clean up his wounds.
His breathing was unbearable to listen to
But his heart was beating strong for her.

He slept silently through the night
His forbidden love by his side.
But as the new morning came, reaching out to them
Things grew suddenly worse for the girl’s only love.

They had to part to their feuding families
But the boy could not move his weak body.
The pain was overwhelming for him
Even for his body could not bare it.

Before he took his silencing breath
He breathed out his final words to the girl
“I love you, my love.”
Then he passed on in the girl’s arms.

She wept for his passing.
Not bothering to return to her home
Not caring if her parents found her
With the body of her forbidden love in her arms.

She then took the blade that she kept with her
And passed herself on to her new life anew.
She saw her love standing in the light
And the forbidden love was no more.

They stepped into the light together
To begin their new cycle of life.
To begin a new love as a whole
But not as they had before.

They were no more a Forbidden Love to each other
They were as one, complete.
They would never face the departure again.
For they had gained everything they needed in each other.
