smitten by she

smitten so i am
by her style,
bitten though i am
by her guile,
it''s her grace
that drives me wild
yet her face
remains a mystery...

so i, a probing line, trace
from the clues in her lyrics
through the cues in her rhyme
to the muse on her mind
where, superlatives
ordinary preceded by extra,
and sub with a twist of lime,
i find...

and i''m hung-over
with torrid desire to connect
my curious probe to her quintessence
and in her sultry spirit erect
my lover''s nest
to excise loneli from ness
and share my dreams
and bare my soul
as we one become
like the earth on the moon
eclipsed by the sun.

(James G.D. Paul)
