A Wish Fulfilled

A Wish Fulfilled

For seventeen days she touched our lives

A tiny little soul

With strength and will and lots of fight

She made our two halves whole

In quietness she bore the pain

I prayed to take her place

My tears fell silent on the glass

I longed to touch her face

My heart was torn in two each day

I stood with empty arms

I wanted just to hold her close

And keep her from all harm

When that fateful hour came

I finaly held her tight

She felt her mother''s hungry arms

On her darkest night

I gave her to her daddy through

The shower of my tears

He told her that it was alright

She didn''t have to fear

And softer than a whisper

She let go of the pain

And we released her back into

Jesus'' arms again

In memory of Elizabeth "Skye" Champion, my precious baby girl.
