the mystery of Wakulla fla

the mystery of Wakulla fla

Lips glossed with tender love
drip wet kisses all over me
from Tallahassee to South Miami
Beach, taking my Florida for dips
in warm tropical seas.

I feel the hot Summer breeze
of her breath
rush on shore like a hurricane
bending my oak back and forth
threatening to tear tree from root,
fruit from tree.

Yet neither shelter nor rescue I seek
for this storm sweetly blows
and I’m swept through the throes of passion
up swollen peaks of Wakulla mountain
erupting in a thunderous roar,
spirals of smoke and molten passion
spewed high into the starlit sky.

Her lips part in a sultry smile;
the decades-old mystery is solved.
