Men Must Cry

Men Must Cry

We’re all aware that the sun’s bright rays
Only beam down from heaven during the day
Yet when the evening rolls through, and light retires
It rises before daytime to glow behind your iris
And dusk fades the most romantic stars
That I look upon to guide me in the pitch black night
Yet I don’t fear getting lost, as I’ll find them later
By seeking out the sparks within your eyes
Who can duplicate the moon, while its waning in its fears?
I can see it hidden deep within as you lock in your tears
All those thunderstorms and cloudy skies are mirrored in your soul
You close your eyes and lock the sun away;
Leaving me in the dark and my world freezing cold
All these mysteries in reveries will never become known
If shadows murk the clear waters where sunlight had once shone
How do we laugh and smile before the storms even subside?
So many secrets that you hide… I know, sometimes, men must cry

"No weapon formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement, thou shalt condemn." - Isaiah 54:17
