Vulnerable and Waiting

Vulnerable and Waiting

I stand before you,
heart open,
soul naked,
body bare and shivering.
I know not what to say,
so I stand in silence,
the moment stopping time,
vulnerable and waiting,
as our eyes lock.
my breath becomes heavy
with anticipation.
“It’s your turn,” I think to myself.
“Speak to me.”
But the silence remains.
as if you want to speak,
but cannot find the words.
With every tick of the clock
I shiver more,
yet still, the silence
is not broken.
So I stand before you now,
shivering in silence,
vulnerable and waiting.
