Walk with me hand in hand,
Down to the meadow, by the stream,
There we’ll spread our blanket casually,
Under the shelter of the old willow trees,
You’ll pick wild flowers,
and weave them into your hair,
as I fix our picnic lunch,
and call your name sweetly
when it’s been prepared.
And there we’ll picnic, you and I,
Under the willows
by the stream, in the meadow,
Where we used to meet,
When loving you was still taboo,
And we had to be discreet,
Yet now you’re my wife
And we’re free to love,
We’ll lie together, till the skies above,
Glimmer the light of the fullest moon,
And we’ll find each other and tease and swoon,
Till midnight and beyond, our loving play,
Soon we’ll find the break of day,
And as we seek each other face to face,
We’ll know in our hearts this is our special place,
And for years to come, we’ll find our way,
Back to this place, we met that day.
