bathing in cryptonic water leaves an odd film on the skin
wash arms in circles with dry rubber then ask the questions once again
the notes grow sour in the day room as bodies hum along to them
those pesky itches in the day room that latch unto the d[r]ying skin.

wrap me up in molten leather
teach me how to breathe again
light a match beneath old sofas
turn your head toward my damp skin
lick the moisture from the palms
that tie themselves into this frame
another bed caught up in wonder
as we wade in water,
awaiting flame.
