Broken Melody

Broken Melody

The words, the dreams, the things I dare not say,
for the fear, for the fear, that the reality will never be the same,
in the eyes I’ve never gazed into, in the arms I’ve never felt.
I wander in between the darkness of the borders in my doubt,
I lay my head to a voice, lay my body to a thought,
to a thought unspeakable, un-be-able.
The words, the dreams, the thoughts we share in sleep,
the trust, the walls, the breaking beneath sheets.
And I hear the danger in your voice, I feel the threat in my bones,
and I see the things, I think, reality in the peak of never opening that door.
Of windows always closed, of lost keys and never ending desires to be.
For the flood you bare to me, for the fire that you set in me.
The words, the dreams, the things, the things I dare not speak,
for the tide, for the breath of fate, for the memories we shall not make,
In fire, you walked into my life in fire, in flood, natural disaster became a vice,
I tread softly on a heart, a heart to break the burden, I tread softly to a thought;
to a thought, in pieces and in rhymes, to a riddle, screaming choose your sides.
The words, the dreams, the things I speak,
to a voice, to a thought, I lay my body under siege.
To a broken window, to a broken dream, the words, the words I dare not say,
for the reality will never be the same.
In the eyes I’ve never gazed in to, in the arms I’ve never felt,
I left behind a burden, a burden in my doubt,
I left behind a burden, makeshift, real, inside the shroud, under fire, under siege,
I left my heart, broken, finally at peace
