The Qualm.

The Qualm.

I secrete my forthright emotions,
unable to give voice to entanglement.
You are standing near; unspeakably handsome,
mindless to the pain I bare.
I wish that I could justify the depth of my adoration,
but the words plummet into an awful silence.
My piece of mind disintegrates when you are close by.

I am a professional deceiver, this mask I don,
unable to live with this irksome reality.
You are looking my way; enigmatic,
deaf to the piteous howling I exhale.
I wish that I could illustrate this unquestionable desire,
but I am bound to the angst of refusal.
My sturdiness degenerates when you stare right through me.

I hide behind demureness,
unable to contend with love.
You are walking away; inexpressibly transcendent,
unacquainted with the hurt that I foster.
I hope that one day I will bring light
to these shrouded perceptions,
and garner the courage to tell you how I feel.
Until then, my thoughts and I remain imprisoned:
anticipating freedom.

In darkness, something beautiful exists. ~ Me.
