Her eyes,
beautiful and sad,
tell her life story.
One blue, one brown,
one blind,
from the subway incident,
leaving scars never to be healed.
The sadness of a nomad,
stumbling from coast to coast,
and back again,
alone and unloved,
yet many a broken heart.
The weariness of depression,
the longing of a loving family,
never realized.
All these things and more,
I can read in her eyes.
Her eyes,
beautiful and sad,
tell her life story,
over and over again.

"The greatest warriors are the ones who stand for peace." H. Near
