Smitten at the Palladium

Smitten at the Palladium

the music is playing
the lights flashing
a matrix of TVs
what a light show
people milling
drinks in hand

she walks past me
tall and stately
a french braid and
regal profile

I can''t believe
the moment I am in
the world stops
who is she

captivated and in awe
unlike anytime ever before
quickly I recover
I must do something

Hi !!
the words flow forth
who knows what I am saying
but she is talking to me

when I leave I have her
number and dance all
the way home
electrified with hope

tomorrow will bring
who knows what
but tonight
anything is possible

I have just met the
girl of my dreams
