Cold Hands/Cold Feet

Cold Hands/Cold Feet

Frosty winds cut through veins and bone, I’m insulated by genetic structure, but your hands and feet are cold…

Gloves and boots snugly put together in the car, my spring jacket is all I require, you think I’m crazy, cause your hands and feet are cold…

Your body stiffens as I become lucid and quick, your blood runs still, as a shiver runs down your spine, and your hands and feet are cold…

Central heating revives your freezing heart, as warm liquid runs down your melting throat, but your hands and feet are cold…

Beneath the sheets our inhibitions leave, as clothes collects on the floor, skin meets it’s other half in perfect symmetry, our hot breath resuscitates our souls, as my warm hands do likewise with your cold hands and feet…

"tonight I can write the saddest lines..." Pablo Neruda
