endless love

endless love

my precious gift of sight
unwrapped a blessing that night
when your full moon eyes mine met
re-uniting heart strings broken by
lust in love's guise
exposed when the light of truth
pierced the veil of youthful naivete
shrouding souls two
eager to taste forbidden fruit
hanging low
under green leaves of temptation...

this fervid lump of desire
weighing on my tongue
like silence on deaf ears
as goosebumps litter my skin
from head to sole,
must be the sign
that the half of my whole
had been found;
that the fountain of endless love
had been sprung;
that these souls two
would bathe in its passionate depths

forever young...

(James G.D. Paul)
