dulcet dreams

dulcet dreams

tasted the lies
on her tongue
as it went down
between us
slipping from grace
to separation…

o' Fidelity!

have you forsaken me?

so free in spirit she seemed;
a cool gust of Summer’s breeze
teasing the sail of my love boat
as it gently rolled at sea,
the storied sanctuary
of lonely hearts
yearning for serendipity's spark…

fueled by blind passion,
my love took flight
on fledgling wings
reaching for a star
of eternal bliss
where kisses reign
and love knows no bound…

a star she couldn’t see,
wolverine eyes smiling deceitfully,
casting a veil over mine,
stirring dulcet dreams that drifted
into the realm of fantasies

o' Fidelity!

have you forsaken me?

(James G.D. Paul)
