Another Life

Another Life

Tell me your name.
No, tell me not
For if I know
It shall haunt me
All my days.
You can only be
A moment in my life
Though my heart
Wish to hold you forever
It cannot be,
Another hold all claims
To this life
That stands in front of you.
O, would it not be true,
In you I have found
My other half
But honor holds me fast.
So, say not your name,
Turn and walk from my sight.
And if the Gods are merciful
We will meet and love
In another life.
