Love, I Need You

Love, I Need You

Sometimes I’ll sit and stare,
Blinklessly out onto the horizon,
Breathing every breath I can breathe,
Waiting for, hoping to find you.

My heart, it hurts, beating out of tune
From rust, from abuse, from rain.
So, I call out to love, to find me, to take me in,
To save me from a life of pain.

I’ll sit and write, sometimes mountains of words
That bounce from wall to wall,
Echoing loudly, seemingly meant
To be heard throughout the world.

Words that say, “Love, I need you.”
Etched on a straight, narrow line
Of a barren page in my soul
That longs for strength and growth.

My heart, it hurts, beating out of tune
From rust, from abuse, from rain.
So, I call out to love, to find me, to take me in,
To save me from a life of pain.
