The Road of Life

The Road of Life

Lonely man walks down lonesome boulevard

Streets paved with nothing but the thought of you

Street lights become your bright eyes

Ss I become blinded by those empty lights

I start to feel lost on this unfamiliar street

I become unaware of the surroundings

Walking through puddles of muddy dejection...yet so clear

Repeated steps down the narrow colorless road

Wishing that the dead end sign would abruptly appear in this everlasting fog

I grow so dreary from the continual sorrow march

I fall asleep on the cold pavement; dreaming of a warm past

Diminishing thoughts were dragged from my temporarily warped mind

I continue to remember the warmth of love; while the fog rises

As I awaken to a world that seems so vague to me but yet again so clear

I glance to the dying grass and notice several small buds

A freshly paved concrete road lies beneath me warm with the sun''s once blockaded rays

I wake up new forgetting thoughts of insignificant love lost and smile
