I once knew a Woman

I once knew a Woman

I once knew a woman
I treated her so fair
But the game she played
Ruined the love we’d have shared

I see you now, girl
Happy you, well seem
With reality abounding
You’re living in a dream

Who scared you, my babe?
It sure wasn’t me
Why are you so afraid, my love?
With me you’d be free

I once knew a woman
I treated her so fair
The game she played
Ruined the love we’d have shared

I’d never treat you mean
You’d be given piece of mind
Anything I could do
To make our souls bind

You’ve made me realize
How much I can care
Looking into your eyes
Feeling your soft hair

I once knew a woman
I treated her so fair
The game she played
Ruined the love we’d have shared

Your words are like water
Flowing calmly through
Man, the things I would do
To show you I’m not untrue

To bad we’re different you say
Why are you so quick with distain?
You fear the sound of happiness
With no thought of what’s to gain

I will always be here
There is nothing to fear
There will never be another one like you
for me that''''ll do the things you do
