If only you knew

If only you knew

If I could tell, how much I love you
this wall I built would hold you firm
and whisper softly my thoughts
penciled here not moments ago.

My friend the wall is all I have
and provides for me an endless place
to score such words as chiseled motions
fall from me like morning rain
leaning as I do to feel each scurried
pain that runs at will across my soul.

I do not use this wall to hide
but more to tell the world,
love is my pride and of
my will she has but to ask.

Do not erase this wall I covet
for my heart may be lost forever
and she may never know.
