A Superhero's Downfall

A Superhero's Downfall

An addiction,
That mind altering perfection racing through my veins
Each time the craving gets a little deeper
A little stronger
And I need a little more

You make my heart race and my knees weak
Your voice is the drug I can’t live without

A weakness
A power over all my thoughts that drains my very will
Each encounter makes it a little harder to resist
A little stronger hold on me
An unavoidable submission

My thighs quiver and my hands tremble
Your kiss is the weakness I cannot overcome

A scar
A visible reminder of the war we fought so long
Each day a little less violent
A little more passion
As time passes on

My blood flows gentle beneath the remnants of my pain
Your memory is the scar that blemishes my wrists

A fantasy
Daydreams chase each other round my mind all day
Each image a little less shrouded
A little more heat
A distraction from the world

My breath catches and my cheeks flush
You are the fantasy I cling to in the night

"That which yields is not always weak" -Jacqueline Carey
