Let it know,
you will let her go.
The tear burns through,
it eats away.
You expect her to stay,
to stick around,
the thick and thin,
through all the pain.
You’ll never look her in the eyes,
never put your hand through
her long and flowing hair.
Never hear her speak those words.
A faint scent
flutters through the air.
A remnant sound,
gets you high as a cloud.
You float away,
to see where she is now.
To see how she is doing,
to see who she’s with.
It came quick and sudden,
a rapid flash of warning.
Expected though unwarranted,
you cannot be upset.
You never told her
how you cared.
You never showed her,
the scars you bared.
