God lends us His love? Not ours to keep? Another “due bill” called home? She died in her sleep! That love lent? For awhile was sent? Not ours anymore! We feel our heart rent! Grandma has died! Mommy is gone! Cried! Crying! Smile? Trying! Love lent not for long! Yet love still remains! Even here in the pain! In the sound of her name! Our loss! Her gain! Seems a shallow refrain! As the casket is lowered! And we are alone! God lends us His love? Is life but a loan? With love woven through? Love that never comes due? Here when we arrive! Remains when we’re gone! Gives life to alive! In our weakness is strong! God’s love is not on loan! OUR LOVED ONES ARE!
