The Hill

The Hill

I watched you leave
you fell into the abiss like a part of the scenery
do you remember that lonely tree
on the hill we used to kiss
our lips would lock in sticky embrace
pumping blood to cold stiff limbs
even the wind knew the moment was ours alone
but now the heart i knew so intimately, is set in solid stone

if only you knew the things i''d do for you
i''d sing a poem of russian love songs
i''d dance a dream on shards of broken glass
i''d bleed a thousand roses upon your lap
but you have to understand my beautiful
only if you asked

i watched you leave
you stumbled over mole hills of jagged words
as i wiped away precious memories on salty tear stained sleeves
now the howling wind haunts the space my heart used to be
i knew the moment was no longer ours alone
the seeds of hate already sewn

is it too late now?
to carve my soul entwined with yours across that lonely tree
on the hill we used to kiss
with every ounce of courage i own
i whisper into lonesome mist..

...perhaps it is...
